WHAT WE DO
The Gloria Jane Harvey Foundation Corporation is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit established to support under privileged, low-income youths in Alexandria, LA and surrounding cities. My goal with this foundation is to setup educational trips and take youths out of their neighborhoods and expose them to positive, historical, and educational places and activities (Washington DC, colleges and universities, historical landmarks, Disney World, etc. ). THE IMPORTANCE
My vision: What a child can’t see, a child can’t envision and a child can’t achieve. What am I saying?? Many times children become a product of their environment because they are not able to leave their neighborhoods while growing up. So, I want to make a difference in some of the youths’ lives. This non-profit would allow children of low-income homes the opportunity to travel to colleges and universities, historic landmarks, recreational areas, and other educational sites to see and learn about life beyond their local neighborhoods. This opportunity will shape their young minds and ultimately shape their futures to go on and seek a quality education and have a prosperous career and enriched life. |
